- What position do you play?
DS/libero
- How long have you played this sport?
Seven years
- What if your fondest memory of playing this sport?
My fondest memory comes from eighth grade night. We were in the middle of a huddle and Coach Decker was handing it to us. It was pretty well deserved; we weren't performing at our best. The team was down and I could tell that everyone needed a pick-me-up. So, in the middle of Coach Decker's screaming fit, I walked right up to him, grabbed his tie, and said "I like your tie." He looked at me like I was nuts but soon the whole team was laughing. We ended up winning, by the way.
- Are you looking to play in college or in the future?
I would love to play in college if the opportunity presented itself.
- Have you ever received any medals/recognition in this sport?
I was appointed to the All-Academic Team last year and also received the Leadership award at the banquet.
- If you could play for any Pro team, who would you play for?
The Harlem Globetrotters, obviously. (Definitely not volleyball related but super cool)
- Who is your role model? Who do you look up to?
My role model is Mrs. Stacy Pierce. She is the strongest, most hard-headed person I know. It was her way or the highway. But she would always take up for her kids. I can't think of anyone who advocated stronger for her students than Mrs. Pierce. She gave me the confidence to do so many things that I wouldn't have dreamed of doing otherwise.
- Who would win a battle between Spiderman and Batman?
Spiderman-
- What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to Bible journal and watch The Office (often simultaneously).
- If you were any animal what animal would you be? Why?
I would be a turtle because they are actually the coolest. They can be as lazy as they want any nobody judges them, but they can also be superheroes like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Think of a better animal; I'll wait.
- What are your plans after you graduate?
I hope to attend the Bellarmine University Honors Program to obtain a degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders.
- As you are completing your senior year of high school, is there anything you would like to tell your parent(s)/guardian(s) about the impact they have had on you?
Thank you :). I appreciate all of the late nights on the road, early mornings at tournaments, and jerseys stretched over kitchen chairs. It's important to feel supported and I count myself lucky that I've never doubted that. I've never doubted that no matter what I choose to pursue, I will always have a cheering section behind me.
- Tell me about the accomplishment you are most proud of (can be related or unrelated to the sport/team)... My proudest accomplishment is my baptism. I didn't actually accomplish anything, it was God who cleansed my sins. But it's still the thing that I'm most proud of. I am so proud to be a part of God's family. I am so proud to be called a friend of Jesus. I am so proud to be known and loved by Christ my Savior.
- Favorite places to do something fun: My favorite place on earth is Disney World! But besides that, I am more of a homebody. I prefer a simple night in with friends to a night out on the town.
-
One thing I can't live without: chocolate chip pancakes
-
After I graduate, I can't wait to: There are so many things that I can't wait to do! I want to travel to Disney World in Hong Kong, coach a Special Olympics team, and adopt a million puppies.
