Class of 2022 Senior Model Applications are OPEN!

Art Deco-ish - MultiImageSeniorModelArt Deco-ish - MultiImageSeniorModel

Who it’s for:  I need high energy students who are well known in their class for being friendly, outgoing, and fun.  Someone who is able to encourage and inspire; who has style, personality and confidence; who sets a positive example and is an excellent influence.

You may be Senior Model material if:

  • you actively engage on social media but put the phone down when you're with friends
  • you'd be excited to post photos from your model session shouting out Michelle McMillan Photography (although this is NOT a requirement)
  • you love random acts of kindness & have a grateful & giving spirit
  • you enjoy making new friends and you have a judgement free attitude
  • you understand the value of quality senior photos and tangible keepsakes
  • you aren’t afraid to step outside your comfort zone and try something new!

Michelle McMillan Senior Models are those who wouldn't want anyone else but Michelle McMillan Photography to photograph them and who want to be FIRST.  I do require Senior Models to invest in their senior portrait session and a portion of the senior portrait purchase up front in order to participate - if you want to find out more, please fill out the application and I will be contacting you soon!

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • At least one complimentary individual model session - you will get a few social media sized images from each model session you participate in for your photo app so you can share on social media/show to friends & family - and you can add them to your senior portrait order if you choose (for your album or wall art etc).
  • You get first choice for the dates on my calendar for your senior session

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME:  I will use your images for advertising senior sessions for the upcoming year.

You do not have to be a model or have a certain 'look'.  I am more interested in your personality and want to work with POSITIVE, AMBITIOUS & FRIENDLY people!  I’m looking for role models not runway models.

I'm looking forward to finding my model team for #co2022 & getting to know all of you!

Michelle

  • What position do you play?
    DS/libero
  • How long have you played this sport?
    Seven years
  • What if your fondest memory of playing this sport?
My fondest memory comes from eighth grade night. We were in the middle of a huddle and Coach Decker was handing it to us. It was pretty well deserved; we weren't performing at our best. The team was down and I could tell that everyone needed a pick-me-up. So, in the middle of Coach Decker's screaming fit, I walked right up to him, grabbed his tie, and said "I like your tie." He looked at me like I was nuts but soon the whole team was laughing. We ended up winning, by the way.
  • Are you looking to play in college or in the future?
I would love to play in college if the opportunity presented itself.
  • Have you ever received any medals/recognition in this sport?
I was appointed to the All-Academic Team last year and also received the Leadership award at the banquet.

The Harlem Globetrotters, obviously. (Definitely not volleyball related but super cool)
  • Who is your role model? Who do you look up to?
My role model is Mrs. Stacy Pierce. She is the strongest, most hard-headed person I know. It was her way or the highway. But she would always take up for her kids. I can't think of anyone who advocated stronger for her students than Mrs. Pierce. She gave me the confidence to do so many things that I wouldn't have dreamed of doing otherwise.
  • Who would win a battle between Spiderman and Batman?
    Spiderman-
  • What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to Bible journal and watch The Office (often simultaneously).
  • If you were any animal what animal would you be? Why?
I would be a turtle because they are actually the coolest. They can be as lazy as they want any nobody judges them, but they can also be superheroes like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Think of a better animal; I'll wait.
  • What are your plans after you graduate?
I hope to attend the Bellarmine University Honors Program to obtain a degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders.
  • As you are completing your senior year of high school, is there anything you would like to tell your parent(s)/guardian(s) about the impact they have had on you?
Thank you :). I appreciate all of the late nights on the road, early mornings at tournaments, and jerseys stretched over kitchen chairs. It's important to feel supported and I count myself lucky that I've never doubted that. I've never doubted that no matter what I choose to pursue, I will always have a cheering section behind me.
  • Tell me about the accomplishment you are most proud of (can be related or unrelated to the sport/team)...  My proudest accomplishment is my baptism. I didn't actually accomplish anything, it was God who cleansed my sins. But it's still the thing that I'm most proud of. I am so proud to be a part of God's family. I am so proud to be called a friend of Jesus. I am so proud to be known and loved by Christ my Savior.
  • Favorite places to do something fun:  My favorite place on earth is Disney World! But besides that, I am more of a homebody. I prefer a simple night in with friends to a night out on the town.

Tayvin Gardens - Senior Model Shoot Part 2

September 03, 2019  •  1 Comment

Part 2 of the model shoot at Tayvin Gardens.  This series includes images in the bridal suite area (it is divine!!).  The bridal suite allowed me to get a few natural light photos as well as use my typical setup with off camera lighting.  It was certainly a treat getting to create images in this beautiful space!

A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to photograph one of my senior models at Tayvin Gardens, a garden venue in Smiths Grove, Kentucky.  Below is part one of our shoot (with senior model, Abigail), inside the main area of the Venue House. Be on the lookout for future blog posts, featuring other locations around the venue.  (***and to my other senior models, Kaylee & Emily - we missed you!!!!)

A huge thanks goes out to Kim, owner of Tayvin Gardens, for allowing us to come and get some really unique images at this gorgeous venue!

John Walker Sitter Session

August 23, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

JOHN WALKER

For all of my clients who choose to do the Baby's First Year Club, we plan one set that will be photographed for all sessions in the first year.  For Walker's portraits, we planned to keep the nursery setup for each session during his first year, including a fox and a sign with his name.  We used a cute little tan and brown sitter outfit from by 3 Strands.  Next up was a classic little OshKosh bibbed overall (these are the best for sitting or standing babies!!!).  And then we ended with a fun little alligater onsie.

Walker is a doll, of course, but he is such a happy baby too!  Enjoy!

MIA - CLASS OF 2020

Mia told me she didn't like to dress up.  She seemed like a jeans and tshirt kind of girl, and I got the impression that she wasn't entirely sure how she would do in front of the camera.  I wasn't sure how it would go... but right off the bat, I KNEW she was a natural.  She fell into poses so comfortably.  Her serious was face was killer.  Her smile was even better.  And her EYES stole the show.  Thank you Mia for trusting me with the images that will forever be a lasting memory of this special time in your life!

Images from Box Beckham Creative

July 31, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

Hey friends!

I just got back from an incredible weekend of learning from 2 of the BEST photographers in the nation.  I attended a photography workshop in Oklahoma and learned so much from Gary Box (Box Portrait Gallery, Tulsa, Oklahoma area) & David Beckham (David Beckham Photography, Columbus, Ohio area).

Here, I will share some of the images I got from the learning shoots we did while there.  Amazing teachers, amazing models.  I encourage everyone to keep learning, no matter what industry you are in!

Sydney was our model for the all white set in the studio.  She is flawless!

Ariah was one of the models at Gary's outdoor studio (WHICH IS AMAZING BTW), and she also went to a waterfall location with us! senior photographerModel AriahAriah modeled outdoors

I missed getting this last model's name (but will update it as soon as I know !!).  She modeled for us near the waterfall but they took her on the other side and we caught this amazing sunset!
